 2017 Deal of the Year

 The 2017 "Deal of the Year" submission deadline is Sunday, April 1st!

The April 17 2018 TREIA general meeting will be our "2017 Deal of the Year" meeting.  The six finalists in the "2017 Deal of the Year" contest will compete for cash prizes (1st place $1,000; 2nd place $500; 3rd through 6th place $100) at this general meeting!  Here is how the competition works:
1)  You must be a TREIA member.

2) Submit up to a three page summary using at least 12 point font of your "2017 Deal of the Year" (closed on the deal anytime between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017) explaining why you think your deal qualifies for "2017 Deal of the Year".  Deadline for submission is Sunday, April 1, 2018.  In addition to the three page summary, the submission may include exhibits (tables and photos), plus must include proof of closing (i.e. HUD statement, etc.).

NOTE:  Your deal can be a purchase, a sale, or both, that closed anytime between 1/1/17 and 12/31/2017.  

3) A panel comprised of TREIA board members and TREIA members will decide the six finalists based on the summaries provided.  This will be a blind competition, no names will be identified with the summaries provided to the panel.  

4) The judging criteria for the six finalists will include but is not limited to; annualized ROI, cash made on the deal, creativity of the deal (acquisition, problems solved, and sale), challenges faced, outcomes, analysis of the deal, future potential, marketing, sourcing the deal, perseverance, lessons learned, etc.  

5) The six finalists who will present at the TREIA general meeting on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 will be notified by e-mail of their finalist standing by April 9, 2018.  

6) Each finalist will be given 12 minutes to present their "2017 Deal of the Year" at the TREIA General Meeting on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.  Finalists may use whatever means they want to present their "2017 Deal of the Year".  Flip Chart, Microphones (handheld wireless and lavaliere), and Computer Projector with screen will be available.  Order of presentation will be drawn at the meeting.  

7) Presentations will be timed and the presentation ended at 12 minutes (if not already ended).  Warning time signals will be provided.  

8) All attendees at the General Meeting on April 17, 2018 will be given a ballot to vote for 1st place and 2nd place for the "2017 Deal of the Year".  Winners will be determined using the popular vote of the meeting attendees.  The finalist with the most overall votes will come in first, the finalist with the second most votes will come in second, and the remaining four finalists will all tie for third.
