Foundations, Crawl Spaces, Electrical Wiring ... Oh, My!

Tuesday, February 06, 2018

Dave & Buster's
Cary Towne Center, 1105 Walnut St., e101
Cary, NC 27511

Have you ever gone out to a prospect and walked the house, snapped some pics, maybe even jotted down some notes - and still thought to yourself, "I wonder what unexpected repairs, costs or potential profit sinkers I might be missing here..??"

Our speaker this month is a licensed home inspector and real estate broker who has owned and operated a local home, termite, radon, septic, and well inspection company for over 15 years. He also owns a moisture remediation company. And he's agreed to come share some of his knowledge, experience, tips and tricks he's picked up over the years with us.

Here's just a few of the items that will be covered:

  • Foundations - (what's expensive to correct and what just looks bad and is not)
  • Crawl Spaces - (he has dubbed this 'the most disregarded area of the rehab process')
  • Aluminum Wiring - (how to correct the right way for your buyer's home inspection)
  • Two Prong Electrical Wiring in Older Homes

Remember to bring business cards for networking!

Remember that during the “Who has a Deal” section of the meeting you must be personally involved in the deal.  If you are bringing flyers to display in the room (i.e. with the details of your deal), make sure your name is on the flyer and that “TREIA Member” is displayed prominently at the bottom of the flyer.  If you have a service that you provide, your service is not something to share during the “Who has a Deal” portion of the meeting, but you can still bring flyers (your service cannot be Real Estate education).`

We are now allowing members to share a need with the group. If you have a need, be specific, but you cannot share that your need is money. You might need a tenant, or a partner to joint venture, or a house to buy and rehab, or education about mobile homes. Use this time to network with the group and share what your needs are as well as your deals.

Don’t forget to bring your business cards!
